Justin Bieber Gets Ed Sheeran Empathy Over Mop Bucket Business
Justin Bieber came under heavy fire last week after video footage of his encounter with a mop bucket — and the rest — went viral. But after the usual Twitter pile-on, Brit singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran offers a calmer perspective.
Tapped for a soundbite by MTV News over previous mistaken rumors that he and Selena Gomez were seeing each other, the Grammy nominated singer sidestepped by referring to the the actress-singer’s back-on beau.
“Well she’s dating Bieber,” Sheeran said. “And he’s pissing in mop buckets.”
The flame-haired 22-year-old, who is currently supporting Gomez’s close friend Taylor Swift on her Red world tour, paid his live performance dues before stateside fame back in his native England:
“I pissed in a bin once,” he confessed, showing solidarity. “On a bus. Really late at night after a festival. So I can appreciate Bieber’s struggle.”
However, the “Lego House” singer did offer a more salty take on the ex-POTUS part of Bieber’s big night in New York City, adding:

“I do like Bill Clinton though,” he recalled. “I met Bill Clinton he’s a very nice guy. Yeah, Bill Clinton’s cool. But that’s kind of like the equivalent if me s****ing in a shoebox and saying I don’t like the Queen.”
Charming as that imagery is, it’s probably a bit overstated seeing as Bieber has since apologized to the great intern de-flowerer and even offered some community service with Clinton’s Global Initiative.
The day the story broke, the 19-year-old owned the incident with a statement on Twitter, saying:
“in life u will make mistakes and people will try and tear u down… but u gotta stay positive. Stay strong… and learn to be better…”
“always live to serve others and The Lord #growingeveryday,” the penitent pop star added.
After Bieber spoke to the former president in a phone call, the 66-year-old accepted his apology and reportedly responded with: “If that is the worst thing you have ever done, all is well.”
Still, Sheeran was trying to help. And at this point in time, Bieber will probably be grateful for all the empathy he can get.
