Teen Beats Chihuahua With Wooden Board

A teen beat a chihuahua with a wooden board after it approached his pit bull on Wednesday.

According to witnesses, Lorenzo Segundo hit the dog at least seven times before dumping its lifeless body in a trash can.

The poor chihuahua suffered fractures to its eye socket, skull and vertebrae. It also bled from its ear canal and mouth.

Police said that the dog likely died of head trauma. “It was tough to see the dog injured the way it was,” Atwater Police Department spokesman William Novetzke said.

One of Segundo’s neighbors, Francisco Venegas, said he was in his front yard when the chihuahua was killed.

“I was watering the yard, and suddenly I heard that dog,” he said. “It sounded like a cry.”

This isn’t the first time the 19-year-old has been accused of animal abuse. A year ago, he was accused of shooting a neighbor’s dog with a BB gun.

Segundo was arrested and booked for suspicion of felony animal cruelty, but no formal charges were made because of lack of evidence. He has since posted bailed and been released.

Unfortunately, Segundo isn’t the only person who has been accused of being cruel to an animal lately. In June, a Florida man was sentenced to 14 years in prison for beating his employer’s dog to death with a tire iron.

Kevin Koscielniak had a falling out with his employer in April. He was stumbling around drunk and John Olaya ordered him to leave his car repair shop.

Olaya’s dog went missing the next day, so he looked at a recording from his surveillance camera, which captured Olaya breaking into his business and beating his dog to death.

When police arrested Koscielniak, he was still wearing the clothes that were speckled with the dog’s blood.

Do you think the teen who allegedly beat the chihuahua with the wooden board got off too easy?
