Justin Bieber’s personal apology to Bill Clinton may have drawn widespread heavyweight comment, but Conan O’Brien decided to address with it comedy, and it’s pretty funny — although his joke about Gomez and and the ex-POTUS was base.

While noting TMZ get no gold stars either for their commercially motivated decision to release a video showing the Canadian urinating into a kitchen mop bucket in a New York City restaurant/club, before spraying a photo of the former president with cleaning fluid and yelling “F*** Bill Clinton!” as his buddies offered cringe-worthy narrative off-camera, it’s only natural people will have a view on such incendiary footage.

In the wake of the video, Bieber apologized to Clinton by phone and an aide confirmed there is no rancor between the 66-year-old and the penitent pop star.

According to CNN, the 66-year-old statesman told Bieber: “If that is the worst thing you have ever done, all is well.”

After their talk, the 19-year-old took to Twitter and told his 41 million plus constituency:

“@billclinton thanks for taking the time to talk Mr. President. Your words meant alot. #greatguy.”

So, that’s the context.

On Thursday night, Conan moved the firestorm into the realm it arguably deserves to reside in and took a comic approach to Bieber’s folly.

The short skit imagined other apologies the “Boyfriend” singer sent to other famous figures, with a running theme implying the teen isn’t overly familiar with current affairs.

In other Bieber news, the singer has reportedly reunited with Selena Gomez on her condition that he dials down his behavior, something his mother Patti Mallette recently echoed to E! News:

“My son is not a public figure to me, he is my son,” the 38-year-old Nowhere But Up author said.”I can’t predict what’s going to be in the headlines.”

“Justin has always been someone who has to do things his way. And I have to be able to believe he will do the right thing and he will come out on top.”

Bieber is currently crisscrossing North America on his Believe tour and plays the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, tonight.
