Naomi Watts As Princess Diana: Official Poster And Trailer

Naomi Watts is starring as Princess Diana in the upcoming biopic Diana, and, on Wednesday, the official movie poster and trailer for the film were released.

The 44-year-old actress sports Diana’s famous blonde blow dried crop hairdo, which provides for an uncanny resemblance to the late Diana.

The poster features Watts in a regal blue dress as her ears and neck drip with royal jewels.

If you pay attention to Princess Diana’s hand in the post, she is sporting a ring that looks just like the one William gave to the Duchess of Cambridge when he proposed.

The post features the tagline: “The legend is never the whole story: Diana.”

The first official trailer for the film was released several weeks ago

Diana was directed by Olivier Hirschbiege. The biopic follows Diana’s final years leading up to her tragic death in Paris.

If the poster looks familiar that’s because it is the same photo taken by Princess Diana for Vanity Fair just months before she died in a car crash in 1997.

The movie trailer focuses a lot of its efforts on Diana’s red carpet appearances, her time in the Angolan minefield, and in her attempts to fend off crowding members of the paparazzi. However, the biopic also focuses on her relationship with British-Pakistani heart and lung surgeon Dr. Hasnat Khan. Later reports of Dr. Khan referred to the surgeon as the love of her life.

Naomi spent six weeks preparing for her role as Princess Diana by working with a dialogue coach. Watts was also given direct access to Diana’s real wardrobe.

If you think the actresses nose looks different that’s because its prosthetic.

Diana is due in UK theaters this September; there is currently no U.S. release date.
