Lisa Edelstein, James Remar, and Aubrey Plaza are among the recent additions to the hit Nickelodeon series Legend of Korra.
Book 2 is essentially the second half of the first season. All 14 episodes will air on the network later this year. If you’re a fan of the series, then chances are you’re already prepared for the premiere.
Lisa Edelstein, who just landed a role on the hit series Castle, will portray Tenzin’s sister Kya in Legend of Korra: Book Two. Her character is being described by Entertainment Weekly as very sweet but extremely impatient.
Aubrey Plaza, meanwhile, has been tasked with voicing Eska. The character’s brother will be tackled by former Joan of Arcadia star Aaron Himelstein. In the show’s mythology, the twins are Korra’s cousins. James Remar will bring Korra’s father Tonraq to life in Book Two.
In addition to Lisa Edelstein, Aubrey Plaza, and James Remar, Legend of Korra is adding John Michael Higgins (Best in Show) and Sons of Anarchy alum Adrian LaTourelle to the mix. There’s certainly a lot of talent working behind-the-scenes on this project.
According to IGN, Legend of Korra will be represented at Comic Con later this month. The regular cast members and the show’s producers will be on-hand to discuss the animated adventure series.
For those who aren’t familiar with the series, Legend of Korra is the sequel to Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko’s Avatar: The Last Airbender. The show tells the story of an Avatar named Korra who travels to Republic City to master the art of air-bending.
David Faustino (Married with Children), J.K. Simmons (Law & Order: SVU), and Dinner and a Movie host Janet Varney are counted among the cast of Nickelodeon’s series. Unfortunately, there’s still no word when the new episodes are scheduled to air.
