Elisabeth Hasselbeck Leaving ‘The View’ For ‘Fox And Friends’

Elizabeth Hasselbeck will soon be leaving the ABC show The View and joining the Fox show Fox And Friends.

Hasselbeck’s departure from The View has been rumored for a long time. With Joy Behar and Barbara Walters leaving the show The View was expected to make a few more casting changes. According to the Hollywood Reporter, those changes are going to come pretty quick as Hasselbeck’s last day will be Wednesday.

ABC said in a statement: “For a decade, Elisabeth Hasselbeck has brought her passion and strong beliefs to The View. We watched her journey from newlywed to motherhood, an Emmy Award-winning talk show host, author, entrepreneur and activist. She stood behind her political views even if they were not the most popular opinions at the table never shying away from voicing a difficult question. We thank Elisabeth and wish her luck as she begins this new chapter of her career.”

Barbara Walters added: “We have had 10 wonderful years with Elisabeth, and she will now be swimming in new waters … We will miss her and wish her everything good.”

Hasselbeck will be leaving The View this week but she won’t join the Fox show until this fall when Fox And Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson moves on to her own show.

FOX News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes said: “Elisabeth’s warm and engaging personality made her a star on The View. She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist, and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise.”

Hasselbeck will join Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade on Fox And Friends this fall.

Hasselbeck said: “I have been a longtime fan of Fox & Friends and am excited to be joining their team in September. It is an honor to call the Fox News Channel my new television home.”
