Ryan Reynolds interview Blake Lively

Ryan Reynolds Wants A Big Family With Blake Lively

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively secretly married in Sept. 2012. The leading man now says they want a big family.

In an interview with Details magazine the actor opens up about a subject he doesn’t normally discuss publicly, his marriage to Blake Lively and the hope to have a big family.

Reynolds, candidly says that he doesn’t intentionally keep his relationship quiet, but explains that it’s difficult for him to put into words how he feels about his wife, especially in an interview.

“It’s a strange thing. I understand the climate we live in and why people are curious. But it’s just tough and almost emotionally violent, for anyone, I think, to see your personal life summarized in a sentence.”

One thing Reynolds is excited about is the prospect of being a father.

“We’d love to have a big family. We both come from big families, my parents did four, Blake’s did five. A lot of people say it’s crazy, but we’ll only know when we’re there, you know? We’ll walk through that fire pretty happily, I think.”

The couple met on the set of The Green Lantern in 2011. Reynolds was previously married to actress Scarlett Johansson between 2008 and 2011.

Reynolds confesses he is terrified of only being able to have boys and the fact that he can’t control certain aspects of fatherhood is somewhat troubling.

The Canadian star is the youngest of four brothers and says that his siblings and him put holes all over their house and it needed to be patched up. He also says he got pounded all the time.

Ironically, the actor’s father was a police officer. “Yeah, that’s very embarrassing,” Reynolds jokes. “When your dad’s a cop, calling 911 is really just like calling Dad at work.”

Ryan Reynolds’ complete interview comes out in the Details August edition.
