2010 St. Louis Rams Preview

This is another team in the NFC West that is rebuilding. Of course they got a couple of pluses. They got Steven Jackson in the backfield, and even with a rookie QB they went and got him protection in the draft, and a big time target to throw to. For a rebuilding team one could not ask for a better starting point. Are they good? No, but they have taken that first step towards something greater. They benefit from playing in a weak division, sure the games against the 49ers will be tough, but they may be able to hang with the other teams in this division. What they hope to see is Sam Bradford step up and start to learn.

Sam will lead the offense, and he has Jackson behind him to get those tough yards. For the offense that is pretty much where the good news ends. There are some potential impact guys along the line including recently drafted Rodger Saffold. Beyond the recently drafted Mardy Gilyard I am very unsure about there WR corps.

On defense the D line concerns me. Chris Long is the lone impact player there. They do have MLB James Laurinaitis, but the LB corps concerns me as well. Ronald Bartell and Bradley Fletcher are the corners, and they are kind of unremarkable. OJ Atogwe is a force at safety, but he has little help back there as well.

On Special Teams Josh Brown will be the kicker, with Donnie Jones handling the punting duties. It looks like Gilyard will return kicks, and Danny Amendola will return punts.
