George Zimmerman 911 Call Screams: Trayvon Martin’s Father Changed His Mind, Says Detective

The George Zimmerman 911 call is focusing on the screams for help, but the lead detective in the Zimmerman-Martin case testified that Trayvon Martin’s father initially claimed the 911 call’s screams were not from his son.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the George Zimmerman trial also saw the same lead detective Chris Serino provide ammo for the prosecution, saying the words George Zimmerman used to describe Trayvon Martin before the fatal confrontation indicated “ill-will and spite.”

Coworkers and the family of George Zimmerman testified the 911 call showed him screaming. But Trayvon Martin’s mother claimed the voice belonged to her slain son.

But officer Chris Serino says that in the days immediately following the shooting Trayvon Martin’s father said the screams from the 911 call did not belong to his son. When Serino played the tape of the 911 call to Trayvon Martin’s father, mother, and girlfriend, Serino asked Mr. Martin if the voice belonged to Trayvon. As Serino recalls, “[Trayvon Martin’s father] looked away and under his breath as I interpret it, said ‘no’.”

Now that Trayvon Martin’s father has taken the stand, he’s claiming he never specifically denied the screams in the 911 call were not from his son. Instead, he says that at first he could not tell either way, but “he came to realize it was his son after hearing the tape some 20 times.”

Another blow to the prosecution came when the judge ruled the fact that Trayvon Martin had marijuana in his system upon death could be considered as evidence.

What do you think about Trayvon Martin’s father changing his mind about the 911 call screams during the George Zimmerman trial?
