Singer MC Daleste Shot And Killed On Stage During Concert [Video]
Brazilian singer MC Daleste was shot and killed while performing at a concert in Campinas.
The 20-year-old performer, real name Daniel Pellegrine, was shot in the abdomen mid-song on Saturday night. MC Daleste, who was performing at a public housing project in the neighborhood of San Martin, was rushed to a nearby hospital but doctors could not save him. He passed away early Sunday morning.
Billboard reports that no one has been arrested yet for the shooting.
MTV reports that police are treating the incident as a homicide. MC Daleste doesn’t have any known rivals. Police have not released any information about potential suspects.
A message on a Facebook page dedicated to the singer, reads: “Another Warrior, another master of Funk leaves before his hour. Descends the stage without saying goodbye. Victim of intolerance! A great loss to our family of Funk! I want at this moment for God to give strength to the family, friends and fans of my partner Mc Daleste. A guy who only wanted to convey joy to the public through his music … MC Daleste did his part and will always be remembered. Lie in peace Warrior of the funk!”
