The Spy Who Loved Snowden: Anna Chapman Proposes To NSA Whistleblower

Ex Russian spy and real-life femme fatale Anna Chapman is absolutely smitten with that NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.

Snowden’s story is familiar enough to you by now, but you might need a refresher course on Chapman. Anna Chapman, born Anna Vasil’yevna Kushchyenko (see, spy!), was arrested in New York City in 2010 on suspicion of working for the Illegals Program spy ring under the Russian Federation’s external intelligence agency, the SVR.

Essentially, Chapman and her group worked as sleeper agents in the U.S., building contacts with academics, industrialists, and politicians to gain access to high-level intelligence. Chapman also may have worked as a honeypot, and was reportedly close to seducing a top adviser in the Obama administration.

She pleaded guilty to conspiracy, and was deported back to Russia as part of a prisoner swap.

Now that Snowden is reportedly holed up in a Moscow airport, Chapman is apparently back to her old “tricks” again, offering a marriage proposal of sorts to the NSA whistleblower on Twitter.

“Snowden, will you marry me?!” read a tweet from an account attributed to Chapman.

“@nsa, will you look after our children?” joked a second tweet a few hours later.

What do you think? Would a femme fatale, Russian secret agent and the man behind the top-secret National Security Agency document leaks make a cute couple?

Snowden has yet to reply to Chapman’s advances, but what with his appetite for sex (and Krispy Kremes) and Chapman’s known sex appeal?

Yeah, it could happen.

What do you think of Anna Chapman’s proposal to Edward Snowden?
