Miley Cyrus Was Lil’ Kim In Her ‘Past Life’ [Video]

Miley Cyrus opened up a bit about her musical influences in a recent interview, and curiously claimed that she feels “on the inside” that she is a replica of rapper Lil’ Kim.

In an interview with Billboard, Cyrus lists her top five favorite female singers, and her choices seem to agree with other recent statements made by the 20-year-old.

Most notoriously, Cyrus recently gave an interview in which she described her desire to write “hood music,” despite showing some reluctance to embrace her role as the “white Nicki Minaj,” which some have branded her in the recent past.

But it seems as though Cyrus would be more comfortable if we regarded her as the “white Lil’ Kim.”

“In my past life, I feel like that was me,” she said of Lil’ Kim in the clip posted below.

Also among Cyrus’ main influences are, you guessed it, Nicki Minaj. She also listed her owngodmother Dolly Parton as an influence in her career.

“Her music, I think, represents my whole childhood,” Cyrus admits.

Cyrus’ new single “We Can’t Stop” definitely shows her influences, and the singer is indeed a long way from her “Hannah Montana” days. Whether she’s still on a path of self-discovery or truly coming into her own as an artist is unknown, but she’s got plenty of time to “twerk” it out.
