Pedophile Dies Of Overdose Moments After Being Sentenced

A pedophile who was convicted of having sex with a 14-year-old overdosed on cyanide just moments after he was sentenced to seven years in prison.

According to witnesses, Steven Parsons pretended he was sick and walked up to the court clerk’s desk to get a drink of water. Although no one saw him slip anything into his mouth while drinking the water, Parsons suddenly started having a seizure.

The 48-year-old went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at the Heartland Regional Medical Center.

Investigators later searched Parson’s car and discovered a piece of paper with the name of a chemical company and phone number. After they called the company, they found out that Parsons ordered 100mg of cyanide.

“It’s not common to see someone just fall over dead in the courtroom even though they’ve just been found guilty of a crime,” Sheriff Darrin White said.

Prosecutor Jerry Biggs had mixed emotions after the incident.

“I can’t speculate to what he was going through but I’m firmly convinced that his death was not a result of a wrongful verdict by the jury,” he said. “Well I was quite surprised and disappointed and unhappy and sorry. Sorry for the victim, sorry for her family.”

Biggs added that the victim had to go through a lot during trial. “This was a girl who had been wronged and was determined and brave enough to make things right.”

In addition to having to serve seven years in prison, Parsons would have had to register as a sex offender for statutory sodomy of a teen girl.

Parsons owned Parson’s Tyre and Service and was well known in the community.
