I can has Mario Paint?: Wii gets a drawing tablet

If you’re a child of the ’80s like myself, it’s highly likely you get misty-eyed just thinking about Mario Paint.

Well, Mario Paint … is not coming back. Sorry. But we’re getting the next best thing: a software suite for the Wii called uDraw Studio and a drawing tablet known simply as “uDraw”. This new doodad is being made by THQ, and can be used with Nintendo’s console by simply connecting it to a Wii Remote.

The Super Nintendo Mouse that launched alongside Mario Paint eventually had dozens of compatible games, but for now the uDraw device has only three: the aforementioned uDraw Studio, Pictionary, and Dood’s Big Adventure. It’ll be out in time for the 2010 Holiday season, though no word on price yet – you can catch a promotional trailer below. Finally, stuff that needs to happen with this:

1. A souped-up Wii version of Yoshi’s Touch & Go
2. Flipnote Studio for Wii!

That is all.
