Justin Bieber’s New Washington D.C. Waxwork May Be The Best Of The Bunch

Justin Bieber’s immortalization continues apace.

A brand new waxwork of the teen star has been installed at Madame Tussauds Washington D.C.

The figure was unveiled Wednesday, June 26, in the “Music Stars” section of the museum.

From the franchise’s own description and pictures of the model, the Canadian’s Washington wax is certainly the most modern of Madame Tussauds’ collection of ‘Biebers.’

The singer’s waxwork is styled wearing a blue and black leather jacket, black leather harem pants and showcases his signature pompadour hair.

In the run-up to the reveal the Washington team hosted a “Biggest Belieber” contest, the winner of which would get to unveil the new model.

Like many others contestants, the winner — 17-year-old Sandy, who describes Justin as “unique and inspirational” — submitted a video to Madame Tussauds spelling out the reasons why she is a fan.

At Washington D.C’s website, Sandy said being chosen was “really cool” and “incredible.”

Her verdict on the Bieb’s waxwork? It was “really realistic and so exact, right down to all the details.”

Washington D.C.’s waxwork comes hot on the heels of the new Bieber figure recently installed at Madame Tussauds, Vienna, Austria.

Just like Washington, the Vienna branch also ran a competition to find the “Biggest Belieber.” But participants were asked to send in love letters about the teen singer instead of videos.

Bieber’s current waxwork count (including Washington D.C.) is eight. Madame Tussauds New York, Hollywood, London, Las Vegas, Vienna, Bangkok and Berlin, also host waxes of the superstar.

In addition, a non-franchise figure of the teen heartthrob was installed at Madrid’s Wax Museum in Spain in October 2011.

Back in March 2011, when Madame Tussauds London unveiled their version of the then 17-year-old Bieber, UK media criticized it and said the waxwork bore only a faint resemblance to the singer.

Bieber recently returned to his Believe world tour and is set to perform Friday at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena.

It remains to be seen what fans and critics think of the singer’s latest waxwork, but here at IQ we think Washington D.C. have done an incredible job.

But what do you think? Is the new Madame Tussauds a decent replica of Bieber, or not so much?
