‘Fifty Shades’ Movie Cast Rumors Continue As Release Date Gets Set For August 2014

Fifty Shades Of Grey author tops Forbes list with $95 million

The Fifty Shades Of Grey movie doesn’t have a set cast yet but Focus Features is already planning for an August 2014 release.

Sam Taylor-Johnson was recently hired as the director for the Fifty Shades movie and the cast should be secured soon. Focus also said that the Kelly Marcel has already adapted E L James’ novel into a screenplay.

Focus Features writes in a press release: “Sam Taylor-Johnson is directing the highly anticipated film adaptation of E L James’ #1 bestselling book. Fifty Shades of Grey has been adapted into a screenplay by Kelly Marcel. Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti are producing the movie version alongside Ms. James.”

All of the pieces are finally coming into place for the highly anticipated movie but there are still some major decisions that have to be made. Who will play Christian Grey? Who will play Anastasia Steele?

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Taylor-Johnson’s 23-year-old husband Aaron Taylor-Johnson could nab the leading role. (The actor’s rep dismissed the rumor as “ridiculous.”) Robert Pattinson has also been rumored for the lead. He was recently spotted at a birthday party with E L James. Of course, just because Pattinson was at the same party with James doesn’t mean that the two will be working together in the future.

For the female lead, Felicity Jones and Alicia Vikander are rumored to be in the running. Emma Watson was once rumored to play the part of Anastasia but the actress said that she would never star in the Fifty Shades Of Grey movie.

Do you think the Fifty Shades movie cast will include big names like Emma Watson or Robert Pattinson?

In February, E L James said: “We are still a long way away from casting. I have some ideas … but it may not be who people expect.”

Alicia would be so WRONG for this role. She doesn't look a thing like Ana. Felicity Jones does, however! I'd love to see her or Emilia Clarke take the role. And Henry Cavill as Christian :)
