Far-Right US Bloggers Not Allowed Into UK

Two US Bloggers have been refused entry into the United Kingdom, according to the Home Office, after it was stated that they were forbidden entry on the grounds that their presence would “not be conducive to public good.”

Pamela Geller and Robert Spender founded the anti-muslim group, Stop Islamization of America, together, and the pair were due to speak at an English Defence League march in Woolwich. This is the location where Lee Rigby was maliciously killed last month.

A government spokesperson stated, “We condemn all those whose behaviours and views run counter to our shared values and will not stand for extremism in any form.”

They then added that these individuals presence, “is not conducive to the public good,” which lead them to exclude them from the country.

Ms Geller has also created the Atlas Shrugs blog, whilst Mr Spencer is the creator of Jihad Watch, recently combined to create a pro-Israel “Defeat Jihad” poster that was then circulated on the New York subway.

On their refusal into the country, both soon took to their blogs to criticise the UK stating that not being allowed into the country was “a striking blow against freedom,” whilst they added, “the nation that gave the world the the Magna Carta is dead.”

Keith Vaz, the chairman of the Home Affairs secret committee  who asked that the duo not be granted entry into the country stated, “”I welcome the home secretary’s ban on Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer from entering the country. This is the right decision. The UK should never become a stage for inflammatory speakers who promote hate.”

However EDL leader, Tommy Robinson, criticised the decision, noting, “It’s embarrassing for this so-called land of democracy and freedom of speech. How many hate preachers are living in this country? It just shows what sort of a two-tier system we have here.”
