Citizen Sports Powers Sports Apps On Social Networks

Citizen Sports is a sports focused media company that provides sports apps for Facebook and MySpace.

Citizen Sports’ applications on Facebook and MySpace allow fans to share their sports passion by declaring their allegiance to their favorite teams. Fans can connect and find others, predict scores and share information with fellow fans.

Their recently launched High School app offers “communication, self-expression and sharing of memories in high school sports communities.” The application allows users to create micro sites for their different clubs, cliques or teams. Users can easily create and organize content like team schedules, statistics and results, and share photos, videos and blogs.

There a quite a few existing players in this space, but this is a the first Facebook/ MySpace only app I’ve seen. Kids like social networks, kids like sport, something like this seems like a natural fit.
