New Images And Trailer For ‘The Counselor’ Starring Fassbender, Pitt, and Bardem

The Counselor, a film directed by Ridley Scott (Black Hawk Down, Prometheus) has a new trailer and also some new images.

The movie is about a lawyer who finds himself on the other side of the law when he gets involved in drug trafficking.

The impressive cast lead by Michael Fassbender (Prometheus, Inglorious Basterds), Brad Pitt (World War Z, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Javier Bardem (Skyfall, Eat Pray Love) also includes Cameron Diaz (My Sister’s Keeper, What to Expect When You’re Expecting) and Penelope Cruz (Sex and the City 2, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides).

The film is set on the Mexican border where The Counselor (Fassbender)decides to make some money on the side illegally. He then becomes involved in a $20 million cocaine deal with the help of a friend (Bardem) and a stranger (Pitt).

The Counselor is directed and co-produced by Scott, who is dedicating it to the memory of his late brother Tony Scott. Tony tragically committed suicide last year.

Cormac McCarthy wrote his first original screenplay for the film and was nabbed by producers Nick Wechsler, Paula Mae Schwartz, and Steve Schwartz.

This is the first major film for Ridley Scott following the successful sci-fi movie Prometheus.

The new images released show a very elegantly dressed Michael Fassbender as well as very dressed down Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz apparently sunbathing with only a towel covering their backs.

The Counselor started production in July, 2012 and was interrupted on August 20, when Ridley Scott’s brother and partner, Tony killed himself in Los Angeles.

Ridley took a long break from filming to be with his brother’s family in California. Production was resumed on Sept. 3.

With Scott at the helm, McCarthy’s writing skills, and a very talented cast this movie is creating great expectations.

The Counselor is opening in the US on October 25.
