Amy Schumer’s TV Show Makes Her A Titan After Her Comedy Central Special

Amy Schumer’s show Inside Amy Schumer outshines her Comedy Central special, and makes her one to watch out for.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the comedy stylings of Amy Schumer, she’s the female comedian who throws a lot of sex jokes into the mix. She’s an attractive woman and she knows it. In fact, she capitalizes on it. However, this piece of comedy eye candy is proving herself a contender for the spot vacated by Phyllis Diller.

Yes, Amy Schumer is doing what Maria Bamford and Ellen Degeneres couldn’t do. Of course, we can’t blame them. Maria Bamford had a breakdown forcing her to end a comedy tour, and decided to go the same route as Christopher Titus, filming an online-only show, but in her own apartment with her parents as the sole audience. Ellen Degeneres has her own highly successful talk show and probably doesn’t have the time to record, never mind promote, a new comedy album.

Enter Amy Schumer … and yes, that was an intentional innuendo. After all, most of her comedy routines revolve around her sex life. Taking the same route to fame as Gabriel Iglesias, Amy Schumer got launched to fame with a Comedy Central special after a stint on Last Comic Standing. Then she followed up with Inside Amy Schumer, a TV series where she is remembered as saying, “I’m a little sluttier than the average bear. I really am.”

Amy Schumer claims her favorite part of the show was when she basically forced her friends to make a porn while she filmed it. Okay, it wasn’t really porn, but the idea was to simulate sex from a woman’s point of view and show how “unsexy” it is. Her aim is not to talk about things for shock value or to “please” the men. Amy Schumer aims more to show life from a female perspective.

Apparently, in spite of Amy Schumer keeping the humor fresh and not catering to what men may like, Inside Amy Schumer has proven such a hit that it’s been renewed for a second season. In the comedy world, it’s tough for a woman to be successful, but Amy Schumer is proving she can handle it.
