Johnny Depp Open To Working Professionally With Ex

Despite a reportedly acrimonious split, actor Johnny Depp said that he is willing to work professionally with his ex, French actress Vanessa Paradis.

Depp and Paradis first got together in 1998 after meeting on the set of Roman Polanski’s The Ninth Gate and his four-year relationship with supermodel Kate Moss. They have two children together, but split in 2012 following months of speculation that he had begun seeing his Rum Diary co-star Amber Heard.

But despite the media gossip, Depp insists that he is on “great terms” with the mother of his children, and said that he wouldn’t rule out making a movie with her at some point in the future, lauding her as a “great woman.”

“I wouldn’t see any weirdness at all in making a film with Vanessa now, whereas before I might have done. We’re on great terms and there’s nothing weird or strange. It’s very normal. She’s a great mommy and a great woman,” he told Britain’s Daily Mirror.

“If you love, you have to love beyond what you think is love. When the s— hits the fan you have to keep loving. I know it sounds like some sort of Hallmark card, and I don’t mean it to, but you cannot abandon ship, you know. You’ve got a couple of kids and a woman who’s been good to you. So keep loving, no matter what.”

Paradis’ feelings on the matter are more unclear. She has only given a handful of interviews since the split, and always speaks ambiguously about her feelings for Depp and about the break-up.

“Love is the strongest and most fragile thing we have in life,” she told Harper’s Bazaar last year. “Nothing is ever for sure, but when something in love doesn’t work from the beginning, it’s never going to work. Don’t push it.”

Do you think it would be awkward to work with your ex?
