‘Dirty Old Man’ Hits On Marissa Mayer At Shareholder Meeting [Video]

Marissa Mayer knows what it’s like to be hit on by a dirty old man.

The Yahoo CEO was recently speaking a a shareholders meeting when a man stood up in the middle of her speech to as Mayer a question about his investment. The man is George Polis. He owns 2,000 shares of Yahoo and is a self-described “dirty old man.”

Before getting to his question about Yahoo stock, Polis made this clear to Mayer, as well as his feelings for her.

I’m George Polis. I have 2,000 shares of Yahoo. I’m Greek, and I’m a dirty old man, and you look attractive, Marissa,” he said.

The moment inspired a little chuckle from the audience, and after the moment passed, Polis went on to ask about stock dividends. The scene was pretty uncomfortable and embarassing, but Mayer handled the flap like a champ and didn’t offer so much as a blush in response.

The Polis moment was just the latest in a long line of such attention afforded to Marissa Mayer. Most publications laud her for her professional achievements, but it’s rare to read an article about the Yahoo boss that doesn’t in some way reference her looks, whether the tone is complimentary or shaming of those who point it out when they ought to focus on her skills.

Technorati‘s Frank Bocchino complimented Mayer’s “fetching good looks, charm, raspy (dare I say sexy) voice and appeal,” and noted that few are willing to talk about her that way openly.

A famed Reddit forum called the 37-year-old the “hottest CEO ever,” in a thread that was almost exclusively dedicated to her looks.
