Toby Keith Fan Arrested Outside Concert For Racist Rant

Ridley Park, PA – A Toby Keith fan was arrested at a Camden, New Jersey concert after he reportedly scaled a fence, broke into a housing complex, waved a Confederate flag, and shouted racial slurs at the residents.

Most Camden residents happen to be minorities.

Anyway, authorities say that 33-year-old Darren Walp was attending the Toby Keith concert when he decided to go start an impromptu race war. He allegedly climbed a fence to get inside a nearby housing complex where he waved a Confederate flag that he had and shouted epithets at confused residents.

The Toby Keith fan was arrested Saturday among the crowd at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden. Right outside the concert venue is the Royal Court apartments where, again, most residents are minorities, according to the Associated Press.Walp is being charged with bias intimidation, harassment, and criminal trespassing. He’s currently in time-out in the Camden County Jail sitting on a bail of $5,000. Authorities didn’t say whether or not he had secured a lawyer.Camden County’s Police Chief Scott Thompson said that federal prosecutors are reviewing the case and will possibly take it over.

Toby Keith, meanwhile, is in news lately over his tornado relief efforts. Say what you will about the sometimes-polarizing country star, he usually kicks in to help when things go to pot, and his Oklahoma Twister Relief Concert is just the latest example of that.

More than 80,000 tickets were sold in about 2 1/2 hours for the July 6 relief concert.

What do you think of the Toby Keith concert arrest? Do the actions of Toby Keith’s fans reflect on the country star?
