Selma Blair Exits As ‘Anger Management’ Begins New Casting Call

Selma Blair was officially fired as a co-star to Charlie Sheen from the Anger Management TV series and Lionsgate is now on the search for a replacement. Blair’s departure came shortly after she reportedly got into a feud with Sheen.

The entire dispute led Sheen to refuse from returning to the set, which eventually led to Blair’s firing. Lionsgate released a statement about the decision to let her go, but they didn’t get into detail behind what caused it all.

“We are confirming that Selma Blair will not be returning to ‘Anger Management’ and we wish her the very best,” the studio said in a statement. Now that it’s all said and done, they’ve officially began looking for a new replacement.

It’s been rumored that Sheen was interested in bringing in Mila Kunis as the new psychiatrist on the show, but there’s no telling who will come aboard just yet. Selma Blair did a respectable job in the role, but it’s now up for grabs and whoever can handle Charlie Sheen will be the one to jump in.

According to the casting call, which was originally reported by Entertainment Weekly, the show is looking for a “sexy” and “gorgeous” actress to play a “by the book psychiatrist.” They are preferably looking for a woman in her 30s or 40s that is Latina or Caucasian.

The casting call noted that the replacement will also be “tough, career driven, neurotic and you wear your heart on your sleeve,” That’s not all, as the show added that “you hate yourself for eventually becoming attracted to Charlie.”

Blair was quite successful playing practically the exact same role, but she’s already moved on and she made it known on her Twitter. She posted last week that “life is good” and “I thank you for support and love,” which obviously was directed to her fans.

Do you believe Selma Blair was wrongfully pushed out of her role on Anger Management by Charlie Sheen?
