Matt Lauer is of the belief that Katie Couric is “very attractive.”
During his chat with Howard Stern last Wednesday, the Today show host shared his thoughts and feelings about former co-host Katie Couric. The pair worked together on the program from 1994 until her departure in 2006.
According to the New York Daily News, Lauer still thinks very highly of his former co-worker. In fact, he happens to think she ranks as either a “9 or 10” on the hotness scale.
“Every man in America was attracted. She’s a very attractive woman, not only physically, but her personality,” Matt Lauer told Howard Stern during their conversation.
The Today show host gushed, “If she’s a 9 or 10 physically, she’s a 14 because … she’s got a great personality. She’s fun. We had a good and easy chemistry.”
In addition to discussing his crush on Katie Couric, Matt Lauer also discussed the New York Times with Stern. Although he still feels the paper is a worthy publication, he has some strong feelings about how they handled the Today show debacle.
“I think that in my personal opinion, we always deal with these things based on how they have treated you personally, and I think there has been a little erosion in some areas as of late. Overall are they still a great newspaper, as is the Wall Street Journal, which I also read in the morning,” Lauer said.
The Huffington Post reports the Today show host isn’t just bitter about how the newspaper treated him. Matt Lauer said he also took issue with the way the publication treats television coverage in general.
“If I think it’s unfair, if I think at times it’s been a little lazy, then it absolutely affects my opinion,” he added.
What do you think about Matt Lauer’s opinion of Katie Couric? Do you agree with the anchor that the New York Times is often “lazy” when it comes to entertainment coverage?
