‘TMNT: Out Of The Shadows’ Reveal Trailer Comes Out Of Its Shell [Video]
TMNT: Out of the Shadows has dropped its reveal trailer!
It’s time for the latest game in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise to come out of its shell with a new trailer featuring all four of the turtles. Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Donatello are all back, showing off their moves together.
The upcoming game, TMNT: Out of the Shadows, will be an arcade-style third-person brawler featuring the famous four, and not likely emphasizing any kind of storyline, as it will be download exclusive on Xbox Live, PlayStation Store, and Steam. Of course, aside from the backstory, what kind of story would you really need for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?
TMNT started out initially as a parody on fellow comics such as Daredevil, New Mutants, Cerebus, and Frank Miller’s Ronin. It was originally a one-time comic book, but Mark Freedman got ahold of Eastman and Laird and turned the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into a phenomenon, sparking the hugely successful cartoon series and four player arcade game.
The concept was never big on story, as ridiculous as the premise was, but it was enough to spawn several generations of cartoons following the adventures of the plucky heroes in a half-shell.
The trailer for the new download-only game TMNT: Out of the Shadows begins with a series of newspaper headlines, which announce, “City Crime Escalates”, “Chief of Police Concerned”, “Robbery at TCRI Labs”, “Residents Afraid to Leave Their Homes”, “Crime Syndicate”, and “Rumors of Masked Vigilantes Spread.”
Then we see clips of the turtles themselves fighting as each one swipes at the screen in a different color graffiti stripe. Leonardo makes the words “This Summer,” Michelangelo attacks with the words, “Out of the Shadows,” Raphael makes the words, “To the Streets,” and Donatello finishes off with “Turtles will rise.” Then we get the game’s title logo as the announcer says, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. Download it this Summer.”
