Porn Stars As Sex Ed Teachers? Private School ‘Wouldn’t Rule It Out’

Would porn stars make good sex education teachers? One private English school might be willing to find out.

The headmaster of the Leys School in Cambridge is apparently considering bringing in adult film stars to teach sex education classes at the elite private school. It’s not quite the sex ed fantasy you’ve always dreamed of though. He said that he wants students to learn about the dangers of pornography and online relationships.

When asked if an adult film star could impart some wisdom on those subjects, he responded, “I wouldn’t rule it out.”

“I wouldn’t rule it out, simply because of what they have done in their life, if I felt that person was going to put across good values and be a good influence,” Headmaster Mark Slater told the Cambridge News.

He says that, because the Internet offers unprecedented access to pornography, he prefers to address the subject and educate his school’s students instead of trying to ignore it.

Slater’s suggestion has caught the attention of numerous outlets around the world. Samantha Escobar at The Gloss is intrigued by the idea but wonders what Slater means when he says a porn star must have “good values.”

“It makes me nervous that he uses the word ‘values,’ and seems to be insinuating that a porn star’s ‘perspective’ could be fundamentally negative,” she writes.

Well, it is a private school. Progress is progress!

And it is an issue that needs some attention. While a porn star’s perspective might not be “fundamentally negative,” a recent BBC report showed that pornography can indeed be damaging, particularly because it can warp a youth’s expectations of sex.

What do you think? Would porn stars make good sex education teachers?
