British street named after Lara Croft

In a story that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the fact that *cough* a new Tomb Raider game is out in three weeks, a road in the UK has been named after Lara Croft, heroine of the Tomb Raider games.

Lara Croft Way can be found in Derby, and was christened after 89% of people voted for the name in a public vote. There is a link between the game and Lara Croft – it was in Derby that game studio Core Design first developed Lara and the best-selling Tomb Raider franchise.

How disappointing that Lara Croft is the best we gamers can muster! Rest assured that when I’m in charge around here Katamari Damacy Avenue will be the grandest road in town.
