Technician Finds MySpace Privacy Hack

Posted: June 4, 2008

A Canadian computer technician says he’s found a way to get around MySpace security and see any user’s private photos, and he’s using Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton as examples.

The guy found a simple roundabout process in which you use Yahoo’s MySpace integration to gain access. You basically just add a MySpace widget to your Yahoo Mail account, navigate over to a specific MySpace URL, and you’ve got the golden key.

The loophole is evidently because of a Yahoo Mail feature that lets users access MySpace via their cell phones. That service, says ValleyWag, lets a user get by with any login and never checks credentials.

So there you have it. Now you can see anyone’s deepest, darkest secrets — which, in the case of Lindsay and Paris, are that they like to party and take their pictures with lots of dudes. Big shocker there.
