Ivanka Trump Doesn’t Want Her Daughter To Grow Up Spoiled
Ivanka Trump said she doesn’t want her nearly 2-year-old daughter. Arabella, to grow up spoiled.
Not the easiest proposition when mom is worth an estimated $100 million and grandpa is worth $3.2 billion,
But despite any of the standard grandparent spoiling that may come from Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump said she will make sure her daughter grows up in a respectful manner.
“The one thing I won’t tolerate is her being spoiled or bratty or having poor manners. That’s one area [in which] I’ll be very strict,” Ivanka told Us Weekly.
It’s likely a lesson Arabella won’t learn from Donald Trump. The real estate mogul, famous for his decadent lifestyle, is still a bit of a novice when it comes to childcare, Ivanka noted.
Ivanka said: “Oh he takes [Arabella] all the time — but with me … He wouldn’t know what to do if she was crying or needed a diaper change. Although I think he’d figure it out. He was always a great father in that he was always there. Now that my brothers and I work with him, we’ve become even closer. If we talked a lot before, we speak 50 times a day now. I spend half the time in his office. It’s wild.”
Ivanka noted that she had at least one good example in the parenting department.
“Arabella isn’t even 2, so she hasn’t thrown me the challenges of a teenager . . . but I have a feeling I’m going to be pretty strict,” she said. “My mother [Ivana Trump] laid down pretty concrete guidelines and the concept of ‘because I said so’ was a totally viable option.”
Ivanka has a busy slate outside of parenting. She runs her own fashion company as well as serving as executive vice president of development and acquisitions at The Trump Organization.
“For me, while balance is something that I strive for, [it’s something] you can’t always plan for,” Ivanka recently told Us Weekly. “My measure is just every day asking myself, ‘Do I have the right priorities?’ and ‘Am I making the right decision?’”
Ivanka Trump might want to figure that all out quickly. She’s is expecting her second child in the fall.
