Bristol Palin, Levi Johnston reunite, plan to marry

Sarah Palin must be reeling in her Naughty Monkey pumps.

Daughter Bristol Palin and her trash-talking babydaddy Levi Johnston have reunited, according to statements they provided to Us Magazine. And the interview seems to imply that Palin and Johnston “came out” to the Palins via the article:

And, they tell Us Weekly, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has been kept in the dark about their plans … until now.

“We got engaged two weeks ago,” Bristol, 19, tells Us Weekly. “It felt right, even though we don’t have the approval of our parents.”

The teenaged lovebirds say they reconnected three months ago while trying to figure out a parenting plan for baby Tripp:

“I really thought we were over,” Levi tells Us Weekly. “So when I went, I had no hope. I think we both just started talking — and then we took Tripp for a walk.”

Says Bristol, “When he left that night, we didn’t hug or kiss, but I was thinking how different it was. He texted me: ‘I miss you. I love you. I want to be with you again’ … I was in shock.”

The Palin family have already publicly responded, of course, releasing a statement to the Today Show. Although not outright condemning the union, the statement comes off as a bit… backhanded:

“Bristol at 19 is now a young adult. We obviously want what’s best for our children. Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put in practice in our daily lives.”
