Nigella Lawson Choked As Husband Calls It A ‘Playful Tiff’

Nigella Lawson was publicly choked by husband Charles Saatchi, and, according to the real estate mogul, the attack was all just part of “a playful tiff.”

After the attack photographs emerged of Sattchi choking his wife, he now tells the London Evening Standard:

“About a week ago, we were sitting outside a restaurant having an intense debate about the children, and I held Nigella’s neck repeatedly while attempting to emphasize my point.”

He then proclaims:

“There was no grip, it was a playful tiff … The pictures are horrific but give a far more drastic and violent impression of what took place. Nigella’s tears were because we both hate arguing, not because she had been hurt.”

While Charles Saatchi is claiming that the Nigella Lawson choking attack was not as dramatic as it appeared to be, it was enough for his wife to flee their family home with children in tow.

So why did his wife flee the house? According to Saatchi:

“We had made up by the time we were home. The paparazzi were congregated outside our house after the story broke yesterday morning, so I told Nigella to take the kids off till the dust settled.”

Yet despite that claim Nigella Lawson’s own rep would only state that she did in fact leave the home with her kids.

Officials for Scotland Yards Community Safety Unit, in the meantime, say they are “carrying out preliminary inquiries” following the spats very public photos.

According to investigators, “Inquiries are in hand to establish the facts in order to assess whether an investigation is necessary.”

The Community Safety Unit investigates alleged cases of domestic violence, homophobia, and racism.
