Facebook Like Option Breaks Down, No One Can Like Anything

Posted: July 11, 2010

Facebook News

For nearly an hour on Sunday night, Facebook users couldn’t “Like” anything directly on the Facebook.com website and through off-site partners.

Users who tried to use the button “off-site” wouldn’t see the “Like” register on their Facebook account, users also couldn’t “Like” items that appeared in their news feeds with the program asking them to contact customer service after receiving a database connection error.

It’s not the first time such an outage has occurred but the database error this time was different than the companies previous outage.

Facebook didn’t announce what caused the issue, but with a fix around 60 minutes into the outage it was a quick reaction from the world’s largest social networking website.
