Wii gets inflatable racing kart: Play Mario Kart in style, mild discomfort

CTA Digital, the name behind this nonsense, has come out with a new Wii accessory of lulz. This inflatable kart “gives the feeling that you’re behind the wheel of a sports car.”

Don’t take my word for it, however. Just listen to Julie and Doug, the perky pair in the promotional video below, who show us how to secure our Wii remotes in the (non-inflatable) steering wheel, before taking on Rainbow Road in Mario Kart Wii.

Though clearly intended for kids, that doesn’t stop Julie squeezing her adult frame into the blow-up kart. “It takes up to 300lbs,” she grimaces, optimistically. Sadly, we don’t get to see beefy Doug contort himself into the thing, knees next to his ears.

It’s a bit odd, but certainly not the worst Wii accessory I’ve seen. Indeed, it could be fun for the chil’n, and is a touch cheaper than a fully operational Daytona arcade machine. $40 at Amazon if you’re interested.
