The interwebs must be bored this weekend. Following on from the false report that Katt Williams had died in a plane crash, the hot rumor of the hour has Lil Wayne dead in a shooting.
The rumor mill reports that Lil Wayne died from a gun shot over the weekend in a gang feud. Wayne has a history with guns, and when was 12 he accidentally shot himself in the chest with a .44-caliber.
Like the Kat Williams rumor yesterday, the Lil Wayne rumor smells a lot like a 4chan stunt, with people posting to message boards that they’ve heard it on the radio “3 minutes ago.”
Perez Hilton claims it’s not true, but that’s the best confirmation we have at this time. If we hear an official denial, we’ll update the post.
Update: this is one report doing the rounds. Still sounds like a hoax, although the police officer named is real.

Dwayne Carter known by his rap alias of ‘Lil Wayne’ is the latest victim of the notorious feud between the ‘Bloods’ And ‘Crips’.

Unfortunately, this is a previous rumor that has failed to start many times. If you google “lil wayne dead” you'll find it on Yahoo Answers that it was tried 2 years ago and then 8 months ago. Apparently, it got off the ground this time. Congratulations to the pranker, it proves once again we can never beat that which has no life.
