John Stamos Calls ‘Full House’ Co-Star The ‘One That Got Away’

Actor John Stamos has had a number of high-profile romances in his 49 years, but admitted in a recent interview that there’s one girl out there who still has a piece of his heart.

Lori Loughlin, Stamos’ Full Houseco-star and on-screen love interest might be Uncle Jesse’s real life “one that got away.”

Stamos was referring to a Loughlin interview, during which the 48-year-old actress, who played Becky Katsopolis on the long-running ABC show, said that the two never managed to hook up in real life because the “timing was always off.”

Stamos revealed that the two actually did date, albeit as teenagers.

“And we actually did date, we went on a date to Disneyland before we were both married. In real life, when we were 18, 19,” he said. “We did have some off timing, but no disrespect to her family and her husband now, I would say that she could be the one that got away.”

But Stamos says that despite a little bit of regret, he’s happy with how everything worked out for Loughlin.

“She’s one of my dearest friends and that’s good enough,” he says. “But I really do adore her. She has a great husband and he’s got a lot of money so …”

Stamos met model and actress Rebecca Romijn in in 1994, and the two married in 1998. They separated in 2004, and divorced in 2005.

Loughlin has been married twice: Once to film producer and investment banker Michael R. Burns between 1989 and 1996, and again to her current husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, in 1997. The couple has two daughters together.
