Luke Evans Reads ‘Treasure Island’, Available August 1 In US [Audio]


British actors are hot right now and Luke Evans is no exception. If you don’t know him yet, you will soon. He recently played the antagonist that made life miserable for Vin Diesel and The Rock in Fast and Furious 6. He did so effortlessly.

But he doesn’t only act. A man of many talents, we discover new ones at every turn. He began his career as a musical theater actor in London’s East End. He played front and center roles in Rent, Piaf and Miss Saigon. Yes, he sings and very well.

His career is on the verge of exploding and he gained more notoriety portraying Owen Shaw on the billion dollar franchise Fast 6, he also plays one of the featured characters, Bard the Bowman in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy.

A new audio book, read by Luke has come to surface, Treasure Island is a popular classic children’s book by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson. It tells of buccaneers looking for buried gold. Listen to a sample of his reading here.

Luke Evans has recorded the audio book which will be available for purchase on August 1, according to Amazon.com.

This is a bit of a departure for Evans, who has done mostly acting, with some stints in advertising doing a commercial for Whiskas cat food recently.

No question he has the voice to do audio books and his fans are rejoicing on this newly unexplored facet to the Welshman. Busy would be inadequate to describe his current status.

At the moment he is filming the last block of The Hobbit production in New Zealand. Finishing that, he is scheduled to start shooting his new film, Dracula in which he plays the lead role and after that he also leads a remake of The Crow.

He will star in the BBC production The Great Train Robbery in which he plays the mastermind of the infamous episode in British history, Bruce Reynolds. I told you busy doesn’t tell the story.
