Ireland Baldwin Offers Advice For Paris Jackson
Ireland Baldwin has shared some advice for Paris Jackson, after the 15-year-old girl’s suicide attempt last week.
As the daughter of two very famous parents – Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger – Ireland knows exactly what it feels like to be forced into the spotlight at a young age.
She chatted with ET at her Elle photo shoot about her Twitter comments to the daughter of Michael Jackson, after the June 4 incident.
“I think she is a gorgeous girl,” said Ireland. “She’s one of the most beautiful girls her age I’ve ever seen. It saddens me to see her going through something like that.”
“All of us, no matter who you are, get tons of Twitter negativity and there [are] some people that say horrific things but she just shouldn’t mind them. [Jackson] has so many people that support her.”
The 17-year-old model went on to confess that she has dealt with her share of bullying in the past, and offered a few words of wisdom for Paris.
“We’ve all been teased and had our hair pulled now and then,” she explained. “I have gone through things with girls and I think it takes time and maturity to say ‘OK, they are going to say this about me and they are going to comment on how I look…and [people] are always going to have an opinion’ and it’s best to just shut it out.”
Paris Jackson was hospitalized after her suicide attempt on the morning of June 5. She is expected to be released from hospital tomorrow, June 14.
One source told ET that the young girl “is doing much better”.
“The whole experience scared the hell out of her. If it’s possible that there is one, then this is the silver lining that has come out of this horrible situation. She now knows she has got to concentrate on looking after herself.”
At 2:26am on June 5, the day Paris landed in hospital after cutting her wrists with a kitchen knife and swallowing pain killers, she took to Twitter with hauntingly sad tweet:
