‘The Order: 1886’ Coming To Playstation 4 [Video]

Sony announced that The Order: 1886 is coming to the Playstation 4.

The Victorian-era game was announced at E3 2013 on Tuesday. The folks at Ready at Dawn, who developed two God of War games for the PSP, will bring the title to life on the next generation console.

Creative Director Ru Weerasuriya said The Order: 1886 has been in the works at the company since 2010. After years of putting all of the pieces together, the game is expected to debut on the Playstation 4 at some point in the near future. An exact release date has not been announced as of this writing.

According to IGN, The Order: 1886 is set in an alternative universe where the Industrial Revolution came about in order to take down a supernatural threat. Set in London, the story will follow two heroes as they fight their way through a slew of inhuman adversaries.

Weerasuriya said all of the cinematic contained in the trailer embedded below are rendered in real-time. In other words, gamers can expect this level of detail from the actual gameplay. Judging from the trailers, Playstation 4 owners should be in for a treat when the game finally hits retail.

Digital Journal reports The Order: 1886 is a joint project from Ready At Dawn and SCE Studio Santa Monica. When the game is finished and ready to ship, Sony Entertainment America will publish the title.

Beyond this information, there’s not a lot of information currently floating around about the project. Even the supernatural elements are being kept under wraps for the time being. Although the trailer appears to feature zombies, it’s really hard to say what sort of threat our heroes will be facing.

When you’re ready, the E3 2013 trailer awaits.

Are you impressed with the trailer for Ready at Dawn’s The Order: 1886? Have you decided which next generation console you’re planning to purchase this holiday season?
