2 Chainz Was Indeed Robbed, San Francisco Police Say Despite Rapper’s Denials

2 Chainz was indeed robbed in San Francisco over the weekend, police say over the denials of the rapper.

Multiple news outlets reported that a gunman targeted the rapper and his entourage on Sunday afternoon, with some reports suggesting that at least two gunshots were fired during the incident.

“Mr. Epps is listed as a victim of a stolen wallet containing credit cards, U.S. currency and a cell phone,” a police official explained to MTV News.

But as news spread, 2 Chainz insisted he wasn’t the victim of a crime during his time in San Francisco.

“If a rapper gets robbed people usually post items that has been taken. Rings, chains, watch, money, etc. To answer that question,” 2 Chainz wrote on the micro-blogging site.

He went on to explain that it would have been bigger news if he had been robbed.

“Rule #1 if a rapper gets robbed people usually post items that has been taken. Rings, chains, watch , money etc. 2 answer that question,” he tweeted, adding, “Rule#2 if a rapper gets shot he usually go to hospital or dies .”

But despite the protests from 2 Chainz, the official report from the San Francisco Police Department confirms that he was robbed during his stay there. Police Sgt. Dennis Toomer said the rapper, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, was walking with five members of his entourage when they were approached by three men. One of them had a gun.

The robbery took place hours before the “No Lie” rapper was scheduled to perform a concert.

The 35-year-old rapper may be trying to steer attention away or preserve his street cred. He did confirm that there were some illicit activities going on that weekend.

“Rule# 3 we definitely got geeked up in San Fran , best smoke in the world. 2 blessed 2 stress,” he later tweeted.

Maybe 2 Chainz got a little too “geeked” and just forgot about being robbed.
