Adam Jones Arrested For Allegedly Slapping Woman In Cincinnati

Adam Jones was arrested on Monday by Cincinnati police for allegedly slapping a woman during an altercation outside of a bar last week. According to local police, the assault happened at BR’s, a bar located at 134 West Sixth Street in downtown Cincinnati.

Court documents have shown that Jones was released on his own recognizance after being taken in on Monday after Hamilton County Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Knapp said the Bengals’ defensive back would be held overnight and arraigned Tuesday morning.

Pacman” is regularly in the spotlight for getting in trouble as he pleaded guilty in January of 2012 to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. He was also suspended by the NFL for the 2007-08 season after an altercation at a strip club in Las Vegas that ended with gunfire from a man that the club owner claimed to be a part of Jones’ entourage that night.

Now he’s found himself in another dispute after being taken in for the assault on 34-year-old Shannon Wesley. Adam Jones was arrested for the altercation which took place on June 5 just before midnight, according to a police complaint.

Further police reports list the injury from Jones’ strike as apparently minor, but “Pacman” himself believes his actions were used as a form of self protection.

On Monday, Jones took to Twitter and explained that he was being arrested “for protecting myself,” though he’s yet to comment any further. You can see his tweet below.

Last season, Jones appeared in all 16 games for the first time in his career and he finished with 40 tackles. The Bengals have yet to comment on the situation either and it’s unknown if the altercation will affect his time with the team for the upcoming season.

Do you believe the Cincinnati Bengals are now in a tough spot after the news of Adam Jones being arrested once again?
