Erin Brokovich Mug Shot Released

Erin Brockovich’s mug shot was just released by Las Vegas authorities, and it isn’t too pretty.

The former beauty queen was arrested this weekend for driving a boat while under the influence of alcohol. Brockovich had a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit.

The environmental activist, who was portrayed by Julia Roberts in the movie Erin Brockovich, issued an apology today saying that she only took control of the boat once it was in the Las Vegas Boat Harbor on Lake Mead.

Brockovich said: “After a day in the sun and with nothing to eat it appears that a couple of drinks had a greater impact than I had realized … At no time was the boat away from the dock and there was no public safety risk. That being said, I take drunk driving very seriously, this was clearly a big mistake, I know better and I am very sorry.”

Driving a boat while under the influence of alcohol is only a misdemeanor in Nevada. Brockovich, 52, will likely face a fine of about $2000 for her arrest.

Brockovich is most famous for her legal work constructing a case against the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) of California in 1993. The case was turned into a movie starring Julia Roberts in 2000. Brockovich is also a former beauty contest winner. She won the Miss Pacific Coast pageant in 1981.
