Diablo III Coming To Xbox 360, PS3 On September 3

Diablo III was originally rumored to be a PS3/PS4 exclusive after it was unveiled at the official Sony PS4 event. Instead, the long-awaited game is coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 gaming consoles on September 3.

Blizzard on Thursday announced that Diablo III will not only arrive on those consoles but also feature a port of the popular PC game that cuts out the “bad stuff.” For example, gamers don’t need to have an “always on” internet connection or use the real money auction house.

Blizzard has also reworked Diablo III so four players can play the game in the same room at the same time. Co-op same room play is a big aspect of console gaming and now that issue has been solved.

Speaking abou the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Diablo 3 company CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime writes:

“Playing Diablo III on a big screen with your friends brings a whole new level of intensity to the game, and with all of the control and interface adaptations we’ve made, it’s extremely fun to play on PS3 and Xbox 360.”

Morhaime then adds:

“In addition to the fine-tuning we’ve done for the console versions, we’re also including major content and design updates we’ve made to the PC version over the past year, so players can expect an epic Diablo gaming experience when the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions launch in September.”

With Blizzard bringing multi-player same-room support to Diablo III for the Xbox 360, there will now be questions as to whether or not Xbox One users will receive a version of their own when the gaming console arrives for sale.

This is Blizzard’s first console game in years, which explains why they are making a big push for users to pre-order the game ahead of its release.

Will you be picking up Diablo III for the Xbox 360 or PS3?
