Cassadee Pope Returns To ‘The Voice’ Stage With New Single

Cassadee Pope returned to The Voice on Tuesday night to perform her new single, “Wasting All These Tears.” The singer’s debut album is set to be released in October.

In her performance, Pope, Season 3’s winner, showed off all the reasons she was picked, singing the new single with conviction and emotion. Blake Shelton, her former coach, sang along and appeared to be very proud of his 23-year-old protege.

Along with performing on The Voice as an alum, Cassadee Pope has several other exciting things to look forward to, thanks to her success on the reality competition show.

The singer is currently opening for Rascal Flatts on the group’s Live & Loud Tour and will hit the small screen again in a new reality show project on CMT later this year.

Pope showed few nerves during the performance and effortlessly belted out the tune with her now-signature powerhouse vocals. And the singer’s enthusiasm for her new single carried over to her fans, who were equally pleased with the new track. They quickly sent “Wasting All These Tears” to the top of the iTunes country chart and in the top 10 of the iTunes singles chart.

And while Blake Shelton showed his pride in Cassadee Pope, he also revealed he was nervous about The Voice Season 4’s finale, though he did have all three finalists going into Tuesday’s show. He told Carson Daley, “I’m nervous as crap!”

Cassadee also took to Twitter after her performance Tuesday night, saying, “So incredible to be back on #TheVoice stage!” When she learned how well her new single was doing, Pope added, “Are you serious?! I can’t believe this!! #wastingallthesetears thank you thank you thank you!”
