Brass Pig Theft Caught On Sticky Lips Surveillance Camera [Video]

A brass pig theft was caught on Sticky Lips surveillance cameras.

A couple of customers at a barbecue restaurant in New York left the joint on Sunday with more than sticky lips, as an iconic door stop was taken. And they would have gotten away with it too, if it hadn’t been for that meddling surveillance camera!

Yes, that’s the last Scooby Doo reference we’re throwing in.

Now the search for “Porky the Cast-Iron Pig” is on, after the camera footage caught a man and a woman sneaking out with the antique piggy bank as the item was being used to hold a door open for customers.

The video of the brass pig theft clearly shows the couple on their way out of the Sticky Lips restaurant, and as the man bends down to grab “Porky” by the tail, the woman holds the door open to avert any suspicious eyes. It obviously didn’t work, as now the video has made its way to Facebook, as well as the restaurant’s own website.

Sticky Lips employee Martha Ognibene has stated, “The guy didn’t realize that we had two cameras, and they were like right next to him. It’s like ‘where do you think you’re going?'”

The second of the rare piggy banks gone missing from the restaurant, when “Porky” was taken, the owners decided enough was enough, and have released the footage of the brass pig theft to the internet, along with the statement, “We need your help in locating these pigs or persons responsible for the heinous act of PORK PICKIN’. It’s okay to SQUEAL on these bandits! Our piggy bank door stop goes by the name of Porky. He will eat almost anything — table scraps are his favorite.”

In an attempt to not scare off the thieves, the website adds, “Or, if you are the person(s) that abducted the pigs, please return and leave them in the foyer area. We just want them back and will not press charges.”

Sticky Lips BBQ is offering a $100 gift certificate to anyone who returns one of the missing pigs, one per pig.

The game is afoot! The mystery of the brass pig theft has commenced, and Sticky Lips BBQ on Culver Road just wants its pigs back. So, have you seen “Porky”?
