Miguel Leg Drop Victim May Have Brain Damage

The woman who was accidentally kicked by R&B singer Miguel during his Billboard Music Awards last month is now alleging that she suffered a head injury from the incident.

During the awards show, Miguel tried to leap from one stage to another, but the jump was ill-timed, and the “Adorn” singer ended up landing on a fan.

Just last week, an attorney for the injured woman, Khyati Shah, said that she is considering filing a lawsuit against Miguel pending medical results. The attorney, Vip Bhola, said that Shah has been having “difficulties” since the accident, and that there was the possibility of a settlement should Shah decide to follow through with taking legal action.

Now Bhola is elaborating on the “difficulties” his client has been having, saying that they are “cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury.” Bhola went on to say that Shah didn’t receive proper medical attention after the kick, and that while she was given an ice pack — which she was seen holding to her arm, and not her head — she should have been rushed to the hospital.

Shah is now waiting to get results back from a neurologist, which she should receive next week. After that, she will decide what her legal options are.

The night of the performance, Miguel and Khyati Shah were interviewed together backstage.

“Well, I think it’s kind of clear what happened. But I’m very happy to bring my new friend, Khyati,we just met. Unfortunately, we did not meet under the best circumstances, but I think we’re OK,” Miguel said.

He added, “The crazy thing is, when you’re performing and you’re just kind of into it, you never know where it’s gonna go and where you’re gonna go with it, and how that might turn out. So this is one of the less-favorable moments.”
