Llama Gets Tasered After Spitting On Police Officer

A 7-year-old llama named Scooter was tasered this weekend after a run-in with police.

The llama escaped from a home in Tallahassee and was on the run from police on late Friday night. Officers finally found the animal on Saturday morning, but the arrest capture didn’t go as expected. The llama refused to cooperate with officers and tried to fight his way to freedom.

And that’s when the llama got tasered.

According to the Daily Mail, officers in Florida shut down Bannerman Road because they were afraid that the animal would get hit by a car. Once the problem of traffic was solved, the officers slowly closed in on the animal and tried to get the animal into a trailer.

Deputy Tony Drzewiecki said: “Our main concern was that he was going to get hit by a car and either get hurt or injure someone else.”

The officers tried to get the llama into a trailer, but Scooter was not cooperating. The llama spit in Drzewiecki’s face and then proceeded to trample the officer.

Drzewiecki said: “I’ve been doing this 20 years and they said there is going to be a lot of excitement in this job, but no one ever told me I would get spit in the face by a llama and trampled by one.”

The llama was then tasered by the other cops.

Sgt. Dawn Dennis said: “It was apparent that he was going to cause an accident. We had to tase it. If it’s a hazard – which it was – we try our best to capture it until the owner can come and get it.”

The Tallahassee Democrat notes that the animal was not injured by the taser. The llama was reportedly snacking on biscuits shortly after his arrest capture.
