Roy Hibbert Apologizes For Gay Slur

Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert issued an apology today for using a gay slur during his post game news conference last night.

Hibbert, who was essential in the Pacers Game 6 win in the Eastern Conference finals against the Miami Heat, used the words “no homo” while answering a question about his defense on LeBron James.

The NBA hasn’t issued any fines against Hibbert yet but the Pacers center has issued an apology.

Hibbert said: “I am apologizing for insensitive remarks made during the post-game press conference after our victory over Miami Saturday night … They were disrespectful and offensive and not a reflection of my personal views. I used a slang term that is not appropriate in any setting, private or public, and the language I used definitely has no place in a public forum, especially over live television. I apologize to those who I have offended, to our fans and to the Pacers’ organization.”

Hibbert also used some colorful language when describing the press. The Pacers center said that he wasn’t voted the Defensive Player Of The Year because “y’all mother f***ckers don’t watch us play.”

The NBA hasn’t issued a penalty for the expletive filled press conference (you can watch the video here) but Hibbert will probably have to fork over a little bit of cash before Game 7.

What did you think about Roy Hibbert’s press conference? What did you think about his apology?
