Does a Facebook group reveal Disney’s most shocking hidden message?

This is a public service announcement for everyone who might be lured into joining the Facebook group entitled “97% of people have never seen Disney’s Most Shocking Hidden Message.”

No, I’m not linking to it on sheer principle, because although it’s easily ignored, stuff like this burns my biscuits. And yes, I took a hit for you, dear readers, to figure out exactly what the hook is here. Initially, it’s not clear because after you “become a fan” of the ‘97% of people have never seen Disney’s Most Shocking Hidden Message” group, it requires you spam your friends to see the “hidden message.” (Also trumpeted as “Disney’s Most Shocking Secret.”)

Users on Yahoo Answers who completed the series of steps required to reveal Disney’s most shocking hidden message report that the endgame of the exercise is to navigate you to virus-laden survey sites. A virus expert at Sophos confirms the malware link and urges Facebook users to avoid the fan page like the clap.

Is the temptation of finding out Disney’s dirty secrets too great? If you’ve really got a jones for reading dirt on Disney films and general Disney lore, Snopes has an entire page devoted to many Disney legends here.
