Judy Greer To Co-Star In FX Comedy Pilot

Judy Greer is set to co-star in Andrew Gurland’s currently untitled FX comedy.

The comedy revolves around two best friends who are willing to go to incredible lengths to save their marriage. Greer will play Lina Bowman, the wife of Russ Bowman (Nat Faxon). While Lina and Russ get along in most aspects, they can’t seem to get along in the bedroom. The Bowmans have moved to a city where they don’t know anyone and have three young daughters, and Lina would rather read than romance her husband. She gives Russ permission to have needs fulfilled elsewhere.

The series is scheduled to begin filming in Los Angeles this summer.

Greer already has a relationship with FX, having voiced Cheryl Tunt, the secretary of Malory Archer (Jessica Walter) on Archer since the first season. Walter and Greer (as well as Jeffrey Tambor and David Cross) were recently reunited for the fourth season of Arrested Development, in which Greer plays George Bluth’s assistant and lover, Kitty. The series will also reunite Greer with Faxon, who wrote The Descendants, for which he won an Oscar.

Gurland wrote the script and will executive produce the series with Paul Young and Peter Principato. Salamo Levin will produce.

Judy Greer has had supporting roles in a number of romantic comedies, including The Wedding Planner, 13 Going on 30, and Love and Other Drugs. She will be playing Miss Desjardin in the remake of Carrie and Cornelia in Dawn of the Planet of Apes, which is currently in pre-production. Her debut book, I Don’t Know What You Know Me From: Confessions of a Co-Star, is set to be released next year.
